Safer and cleaner working environment with the mobile conveyor system

The 120-year-old Basalt-Actien-Geschellschaft BAG quarry in Koschenberg, Germany, has used Metso's mobile crushing and conveying system since 1993. With the first mobile combination, over 27 million tonnes of sandstone was crushed and conveyed. Recently, contemplating even greater efficiency and environmental friendliness, BAG purchased a similar but electrically driven primary plant and conveyor system from Metso.

"The technology used by the Lokotrack mobile crushing and conveying system is truly unique, with no rival in the marketplace. Through the high availability of units, we can secure a steady, continuous primary feed of up to 700 tonnes per hour," comments Mr Michael Raden, Quarry Manager of the BAG Koschenberg quarry.

After connecting the mobile conveying equipment to a stationary conveyor system almost one kilometer in length, BAG was able to boost the efficiency of its transportation of crushed aggregate for further processing. A total of six large dump trucks were dispensed.
