In March 2011, Shanghai Prosperous Paper Co., Ltd. (SPP) and Metso renewed their annual roll grinding agreement, this time celebrating its tenth anniversary. This fruitful cooperation started right after Metso opened its Wuxi Service Center in China in 2001.
The mill has set its sights on converting other suction rolls to Compact LocSeal. “We intend to keep moving with it since we see the value,” says Bernie Kessler, Paper Machine Manager, Ponderay Newsprint in Usk, Washington.
“We contacted Guangzhou service center and informed them of our need to get the spreader roll reconditioned within the upcoming 10-day shutdown. Although the time for the overhaul was short, the reconditioned spreader roll is running very well,”says Deputy Maintenance Manager Hu Jinguo.
