Metso is today also one of the world's leading manufacturers of technical textiles. Metso has broadened its product offering to fabrics after having acquired Tamfelt Corp. in late December 2009. The PMC (Paper Machine Clothing) products include paper and board machine clothing, whereas filter fabrics are delivered to the
pulp and paper,
mining, chemical, power and construction industries. All the products are tailor-made according to the needs of our customers. The specific requirements of each application, machine and position are taken in account.
In paper and board manufacturing, clothing is used to remove water and to transport the web of paper through the process. Filter fabrics are used to separate liquid and solids in wet filtration applications. Dry filtration products are used to separate solids from gases. Ironers use special felts (ironer felts).
