The current, most material sustainability topics for Metso are presented in the materiality matrix. The impact of each topic on society is presented in the vertical dimension and its impact on Metso's sustainability management is presented on the horizontal dimension. The sustainability topics are positioned in the matrix according to their relevance and their current need for specific development and attention. There are three levels of priority for currently relevant topics that require specific development actions and attention: low, medium and high. The topics positioned in the high section of the matrix are the top priority for 2012. The topics closer to the left or lower down in the matrix are issues that are already being further implemented into the Metso sustainability management and hence require less focus in 2012. The three colors (green, blue and red) are a further indication of the current status of each sustainability topic.
