Metso Outotec continues to participate in India's infrastructure and industrial development through world-class manufacturing facilities, technological expertise and strong service support meeting rapid demand for products and services in India. Metso launched operations in India in 1992 and has been developing a strong footprint in the country. Along with the world-class manufacturing facility in Alwar, Metso Outotec’s Indian aggregate sector capabilities are supported by a foundry in Ahmedabad, service centers in Bangalore and Faridabad, and a countrywide network of distribution centers. During the past 27 years, Metso Outotec has been continuously developing its capabilities to meet the evolving needs of the fast-growing Indian market.
Metso Outotec Park – Alwar
Metso Outotec Park, a state-of-the-art facility spread over an area of 78 acres is Metso Outotec’s single largest greenfield investment in the world located in Alwar, Rajasthan. The production facility started operations in 2010 and today, it is one of the largest of Metso Outotec's global production sites delivering a wide range of aggregate equipment from Nordwheeler, NW Rapid(TM) and Lokotrack(TM) crushing and screening plants with jaw, cone and impact crushers, as well as equipment for mining and process industries and a variety of service products.
In March 2011, Metso Outotec Park gained IMS certification in three critical management systems: Quality Management System- ISO 9001: 2008; Environmental Management System - ISO 14001:2004 and Occupational Health & Safety System - OHSAS 18001:2007.
Metso Outotec Foundry – Ahmedabad
Metso Outotec foundry in Ahmedabad, Gujarat was acquired in August 2000 and began its operations in August 2001. The foundry manufactures crusher manganese wears for C series jaw crushers, GP series cone crushers besides making Hi-chrome Slurry pumps wears for both Indian as well as for global customers.
The foundry is accredited with ISO 9001: 2008 Quality Management Certification and ISO 14001:2004 Management System for Environment Certification. In year 2013, new mechanized mould line facilities, captive machining facility equipped with CNC machines to mechanize high hardness pump wears have been added to the facility along with the up gradation of quality assurance set up. Post expansion foundry’s capacity has been enhanced to 7,000 metric tons (Crusher Wears: 4000 metric tonnes and Pump Wears: 3000 metric tonnes).
Metso Outotec Foundry – Vadodara
This greenfield foundry project in Vadodara, India was announced in 2018 with an approx. investment of EUR 25 million.
With the opening of this new facility, Metso Outotec aims to cater to the global market demand of cast wear parts for mining and aggregates industries. The First Pour of the foundry happened on 20th Feb 2020.
The state-of-the-art foundry will augment Metso Outotec’s global foundry network to serve growing customer needs worldwide. With the modern and efficient production processes, Metso Outotec aims to enhance the product availability and reduce lead time.
The manufacturing process embraces Lean Principles enabling strong on-time delivery performance and world-class quality of finished products. Metso Outotec continuously strives to explore alternatives to develop its supply capabilities globally through its own manufacturing facilities & supplier network and establishment of Vadodara foundry is one more step towards the same goal.
Currently, the facility has a capacity to accommodate 180 employees, which will expand eventually as per the need.
