I would like to take this opportunity to introduce our new Service Head, Mrs. Päivi Suikkanen-Halmela, whom some of you may already know. Päivi is not a rookie in our team – on the contrary, she has started up several of our flash smelting projects in the past. You may also have seen her carry out technical audits for your smelter. Going forward, Päivi will build together with our product groups a strong network of experts to help you with your support needs. All you need to do is to reach out to your nearest Metso Outotec representative, and we will take care that your request reaches the right expert without delay.

The other important news I would like share with you is something we are extremely proud of at Metso Outotec. Corporate Knights has once again listed the 100 most sustainable companies, and we were ranked on the 8^th place. Sustainability is one of Metso Outotec’s strategic priorities, and we are committed to limiting global warming to 1.5°C, with targets validated by the Science Based Targets initiative. 

Metso Outotec has just recently introduced an all-encompassing approach to sustainability, Planet Positive. To serve our customers’ sustainability needs and to increase the size of our ecological handprint, we will focus on further growing our sustainable offering in all our businesses, including Smelting.  

It has been long since we’ve been able to meet in person. I’m sure we all hope to see the pandemic vanish soon, and to be able to meet on the sites where the action takes place. We also have many happenings to look forward - and have a happy reunion meeting face to face.
