Message from our Smelting VP

Season’s greetings,

After six long years, we were finally able to organize the 16^th IFSC during this fall. It was truly a pleasure to host all of you together with our co-hosts Aurubis Bulgaria and Atlantic Copper at the beginning of October. Discussions with participants during the week convinced me again that this event has a special place in our hearts, and it provides smelting professionals a platform to share experiences and network. If you missed the event, you can read or even listen more about it elsewhere in this letter.

During the years, we have awarded two gentlemen on their contributions for Flash Smelting. Previously awarded gentlemen are Mr. Risto Saarinen and Mr. David B George. We have decided to continue this tradition and this year, recognized Señor Miguel Palacios by awarding him a Flash Smelting Ambassador medal. I think we managed also to make this a bit of a surprise to Miguel. You can read some highlights about his keynote presentation and see him with the medal, which hopefully gives you the sense of the warm atmosphere which was present during the whole week.

There are also other interesting articles in this issue of the letter and more to follow in next ones. Our R&D, product groups and engineering departments are not resting on their sofas but trying to figure out how we can satisfy your demands and sometimes even surprise you with something totally new. Let’s stay in contact and please keep challenging us as we try to do our best to support you with your businesses.

Finally, I would like to wish you all safe and prosperous year 2024 in your business but also in your personal life.
