Outokumpu Technology to modernize aluminium plant in Bosnia-Herzegovina

Outokumpu Technology has agreed with Aluminij d.d. Mostar on the modernization of Aluminij's anode plant in Bosnia-Herzegovina. The contract price is approximately EUR 28 million.

Outokumpu Technology's scope covers the engineering, delivery of proprietary equipment, and commissioning of the anode plant upgrade. The modernization will increase Aluminij's production from 120,000 to 130,000 tonnes of primary aluminium and aluminium alloys annually, optimize the anodes to produce more metal in the following electrolysis step at the same fixed costs, and improve significantly the environmental conditions of the plant.

The project is expected to be completed in 2008.
