Outotec to deliver grinding technology for the Kevitsa project in Finland

OUTOTEC OYJ PRESS RELEASE, OCTOBER 25, 2007 AT 2.00 PM

Outotec has agreed with Scandinavian Minerals Limited of Canada for the delivery of grinding technology for Scandinavian Minerals' Kevitsa project in Finland. The contract value exceeds EUR 20 million.

Kevitsa, located in Sodankylä in northern Finland, is an undeveloped sulfide nickel deposit containing also copper and platinum group metals. Outotec's scope of delivery consists of three fully autogenous grinding mills of Outotec's proprietary design, planned to treat approximately five million tonnes of ore per year. Outotec's fully autogenous mills will bring substantial savings in operational costs of the grinding circuit compared to traditional semi-autogenous mills.

The mills are due to be delivered in the first quarter of 2010 and the processing plant is planned to be operational in 2010.
