Outotec's third water supply facility project in Sri Lanka will not go ahead
OUTOTEC OYJ STOCK EXCHANGE RELEASE, DECEMBER 5, 2008 AT 11.00 AM Outotec's third water supply facility project in Sri Lanka will not go ahead Outotec's drinking water supply facility project in Sri Lanka, announced on September 3, 2007, will not be implemented due to further delayed financing. The parties have mutually agreed not to go ahead with the project according to the terms agreed in the supply contract over a year ago. The contract was worth USD 100 million (approximately EUR 75 million) and subject to signing of a loan agreement by the Government of Sri Lanka. Because the supply contract was conditional and subject to financing, it has never been included in Outotec's order intake and order backlog. The fact that the project will not be implemented does not affect Outotec's outlook for 2008. Outotec has already delivered one water supply facility in 2003 in Sri Lanka, is currently implementing the second drinking water project, due for completion in 2009, and continues developing new water business in Sri Lanka and elsewhere in Asia.
