Portable crushing and screening equipment do the trick
After detailed analysis, Metso Outotec experts proposed to Veidekke Industri new NW Rapid™ portable crushing and screening equipment, which would optimize the shape of the end products and increase the capacity of the most valuable sizes.
“We will change the location of the plant in three years. Portable equipment is easier and cheaper to take down and transport,” Pedersen says.
At Veidekke Industri’s new plant the primary crushing and screening are done with Jonsson & Söner mobile crusher and a screen, which feed the material to the three wheel-mounted units: NW300GP™ Rapid with a secondary crusher, NW2060S™ Rapid with a 4-deck screen, and NW330GPS™ Rapid with a 4-deck screen and an integrated tertiary crusher.
According to the calculations, the new four-stage plant is supposed to increase the potential capacity up to 600,000 tonnes annually, an improvement of 20% compared to the maximum capacity of the old plant.
Veidekke Industri’s new crushing and screening plant is also powered by electricity.
“The plant can be connected to the power grid, which was important to the customer. It is also important to us. Metso Outotec tends to talk about footprint and handprint. The footprint is how we operate ourselves and manufacture the equipment environmentally friendly. The handprint is what we provide to the customer to help them to operate in a more environmentally friendly manner”, explains Raymond Andreassen, Project Manager, Metso Outotec.
