Wet classification when using hydrocyclones uses separation by centrifugal force covering a size (mass) range of 100-10 microns. High-mass particles closer to the outer wall report to the underflow, and lower-mass particles closer to the center report to the overflow.
MHC™ Series hydrocyclones design represents the next generation of hydrocyclones. Equipped with world-class technology and several innovative features, the new range of hydrocyclones offers significant product advantages in comparison to other hydrocyclones. MHC™ hydrocyclones are built to provide a solution to diverse needs, a balanced grinding circuit and overall plant performance. Why choose MHC™ hydrocyclones for your beneficiation processing or tailings management?
High capacity
The MHC™ Series hydrocyclones inlet head design was developed in coordination with simulation and modeling scientists using the latest CFD-DEM software available. The inlet head design allows for a smoother flow of material into the hydrocyclone for increased unit capacity.
Increased unit capacity combined with minimal turbulence creates a higher throughput wet classification process.
Increase uptime
The next-generation design of the MHC™ Series hydrocyclones drive maximum uptime along with decreasing operational costs (OPEX). The MHC™ Series hydrocyclone's industry-leading flow rate creates an optimal flow even with given pressure drops. Wear-resistant liners are also incorporated for increased uptime and to extend the lifecycle of the parts overall.
With the single component conical section, MHC™ hydrocyclone provides an ease of maintenance reducing downtime. The liner changes are quick, safe and easy due to the simple design and limited number of parts. The simplicity of the hydrocyclone brings increased uptime and reduced costs.
Exceptional separation efficiency
The MHC™ Series hydrocyclones provide accurate and efficient separation of particles by size (mass). Radial manifolds accurately distribute the feed and collect the underflow and overflow from multiple hydrocyclones operating in parallel. Wear-resistant linings are incorporated into the feed distributor producing minimal turbulence for the underflow and overflow launders. The unique conical geometry provides a smooth acceleration of particles to promote a sharp particle separation for a lower cost.
Special attention is paid to safe access for monitoring, sampling and maintaining the MHC™ Series hydrocyclones and manifold components.
Diverse applications
MHC™ hydrocyclones fulfill diverse needs and are widely used in industries that require solid-liquid or liquid-liquid separation, including:
- Mining & minerals processing - Classifying, desliming, thickening and grinding circuits
- Aggregates & sand processing – Washing and recovering fine sand and minerals.
Specific applications where the MHC™ performs best are grinding circuit classification, and anywhere from primary to fine grinding for a full range of minerals.
The broad product offering of hydrocyclone sizes brings increased efficiency and profitability. Each model from the MHC™ Series hydrocyclones offering has a range of vortex finders and apex inserts to fine-tune wet classification performance.
