Built around the Nordberg® GP220™ crushing unit, NW220GPS™ Rapid has 220 kW (300hp) crushing power and capacity up to 250 tph. It is especially suitable for pre-crushed material such as limestone, granite and basalt.
This portable cone crusher also has a big 10 m2 (12 yd2) four-deck dual-slope vibrating screen in the same chassis. This results in a 20% increase in crushing and screening performance compared to conventional solutions in the same size class.
The material can be fed by separate conveyor belts from the primary crushing station NW106 or NW116 or through a separate feed hopper either to the crusher or screen. In a multistage crushing process, the crusher can produce up to four calibrated end products.
Quick to set up with pre-designed crushing stations
NW Rapid solutions include ready-made plant layouts, flow sheets and pre-designed crushing stations for the entire crushing and screening plant. Primary, secondary and tertiary crushing stations include not only a portable crusher or screen, but also the needed feeders, surge bins and conveyors to connect all the equipment as an entire crushing and screening plant. In addition, a crushing permit can be easier to get for a portable plant compared to a stationary plant.
Crusher process control
Metso IC™ crusher process control is a standard feature for portable crushers. It automates, monitors, controls and optimizes the crushing process.
NW220GPS™ also has a Remote User Interface (RUI), which ensures more efficient and safer use of the plant. The system can be centrally controlled from a distance, leading to safer and easier operation of the machine.
The remote system also allows for adjusting the process without stopping it, further improving productivity and reducing downtime through preventive maintenance. The end product quality will also be more consistent due to an automatically controlled process.
IC process control and RUI are included with NW Rapid plants with no extra license costs.
Sustainable crushing with electric operations
NW Rapid machines are all electric. This makes the operation more sustainable, especially when using renewable energy source. Electrically operated units are easy to maintain, and their operational costs are significantly lower than diesel-driven machines. In addition, when grid is not available, servicing a single large diesel generator on the site is less demanding than service multiple diesel engines in each unit.
Optional features
This portable cone crusher can be equipped with optional hydraulically operated screen lifting and adjustable hydraulic support legs, enabling the plant to be ready for action in hours after arriving on site.
For road transportation where lower axle weight is needed, the unit can be fitted with an extra axle. Combined with lights, side, mud guards and ABS-brakes, NW220GPS can be transported on road safely and in one compact package.
Safe and easy to operate and maintain
This portable cone crusher is safe and easy to operate and maintain. Unique features - such as being more spacious and having high accessibility service platforms - make the daily operation and maintenance of the plant safe, easy and quick.
The electric center and working platform have been isolated from the chassis to avoid shaking and improve safety of the operator. The stairs on to the working platform have proper handrails and can be shifted from the left to the right hand side of the machine.
Global expertise, local support
Portable cone crushers are supported by Metso’s global network of service professionals and optimization experts. A wide range of high-quality spare parts and wear parts can be delivered promptly and tailored for any specific process need.
