Trellex Traclag can be applied to drive and non-drive pulleys and is designed for light, medium and heavy-duty applications. It’s most used for conveyor pulleys in the mining, quarrying, mineral & metal processing industries but can be used in any application where required. Trellex Traclag rubber pulley lagging has excellent wet & dry abrasion resistance, a high degree of flexibility for enhanced shedding of carry back and a high degree of protection for the conveyor belt.
Metso always recommend the users to follow cold bonding instructions described in separate installation manuals to achieve best possible performance. If correct application procedure is applied, the adhesion level exceeds 12 N/mm.
Trellex Traclag has a diamond surface profile for removing dirt and water away from the pulley. This profile also increases the coefficient of friction between the drive pulley and conveyor belt, increasing grip and reducing slippage and improving drive and tracking of the conveyor belt. Our rubber pulley lagging is made from different rubber layers co-molded together. The top layer being the high abrasion resistant layer and the bottom layer being the adhesion CN bonding layer. Metso’s specially formulated CN bonding layer is engineered to achieve ultimate adhesion when bonded to steel pulley surfaces. The CN bonding layer and edges have buffed finishes to provide an increased surface contact area that provides enhanced adhesion.

Improved belt tracking
Reduces slippage between belt & pulley
Protects the pulley from wear & dirt
Prevents material build-up
Suitable for all applications
FRAS quality available on request
Suits any pulley size
Easy to install
Hot vulcanized bonding layer available on request
Wear indicator
Material: Wear Rubber 65 ShoreA, Buffed Bonding Layer-CN
Wear side: Diamond-pattern
Standard Installation: Cold bonding (Hot vulcanising available on request)
Fire Resistant & Anti Static, FRAS: Available on request
Width: Standard 250mm (500mm available on request)
Cold bonded adhesion: Metso rubber lagging should be applied according to the application procedure using Trellex Steel Primer P5 (P/N 2322060) and Trellex Greenbond adhesive (P/N 2322040). These have been formulated to contain ingredients that chemically interlock with components in the CN/CL bonding layer. Cold bonding adhesion values exceeding 12 N/mm.
Wear indicators: Rubber lagging for medium & heavy applications are using wear indicators. Green color standard rubber & Orange color FRAS.
Hot Vulcanising: Available on request. Hot vulcanising lagging is supplied with a 1,2mm thick uncured rubber layer applied to the back and sides. Packed in plastic to protect and keep the uncured bonding layer fresh and free from contamination until it’s applied to the pulley. Application by an approved applicator will guarantee a 100% rubber tear bond between the lagging and the pulley shell with typical adhesion values exceeding 20 N/mm.
Light applications: 8 & 10mm thickness in 10m rolls and 2000mm width.
Medium/Heavy applications:
10mm +1/-0: 10, 20 & 80m rolls
12mm +1/-0: 10, 20 & 65m rolls
15mm +1/-0: 10, 20 & 50m rolls
20mm +0/-1: 10, 20 & 40m rolls
250mm standard width and 500mm MTO width.
For strips always allow 100 mm extra length over the pulley face width to have 50 mm at each end of overhang.
Traclag with thickness >15mm only recommended for pulleys with diameters over 400mm.
All dimensions available in FRAS quality on request.
Storage room for lagging must be cool, dry and kept clean.
Protect the lagging from dust, water etc. with suitable coverings.
Avoid storage places near sources of ozone generating equipment.
UV light can damage the product – protect product against direct sunlight and strong artificial light.
Do NOT store outside.
Do NOT store together with fuels, lubricants, acids, disinfectants, solvents or other chemicals.
Allow 24 hours before use when lagging is removed from cold storage.
Shelf life for cold vulcanizing lagging: 3 years. (Stored covered out of sunlight UV and away from ozone
generating equipment)
Calculate your need:
The length of the lagging/drum
Example:
Pulley Ø = 500mm
Lagging thickness = 10mm
Pulley width = 1000mm
Extra length/strip = 100mm
Lagging width = 250mm
Pi (𝜋)= 3,14
The circumference of the lagging/drum
(500 + 10) X 3,14 = 1601mm
1601 = 6,4 strips -> 7 strips
250
7 X (1000 + 100) = 7700mm
The length of the lagging/drum = 7700mm
Splice: X = Min. 200mm
CE marked cutting machine Alu-Cut, 43101015NEW makes cutting safer, easier, faster and more exact then cutting by hand.
Trellex Alu-Cut cutting machine has been developed for cutting of up to 30 mm(13/16”) thick rubber or polyurethane sheeting with max. 0.7 mm(1/32”) aluminium backing or rubber/ polyurethane sheeting of max. 50 mm(2”) thickness and 70º Shore A hardness. It can also be used for cutting rubber sheeting with fabric reinforcement up to a max. thickness of 25 mm(1”) and 2 piles of polyester/polyamide fabric.
