Metso will be presenting its broad portfolio of products, technologies and solutions designed to optimize the extraction and production processes in mining. With a track record of more than 150 years, Metso is a pioneer in the development of innovations that seek to improve operational efficiency and reduce the environmental impact of mining operations.
"The mining industry is facing growing challenges in terms of productivity and sustainability. Metso continues to focus on innovation and technologies that bring real value to the industry," says Eduardo Nilo, President of Metso's South America market area.
Innovative solutions
Metso's stand will showcase the company’s latest innovations in equipment and services, including solutions in crushing, grinding, classification, automation and waste management, and more. In flotation, Metso will present Concorde CellTM technology and Larox® FFP filters, solutions offering superior performance. The company will also highlight the recycling of hybrid mill liners and the repair and parts services, which are widely recognized in the mining industry.
Another focus for Metso will be the aftermarket and repair services, which are carried out from different service centers, such as the one in Antofagasta, Chile, strategically located next to its major customers in the epicenter of global mining.
In addition, the company will showcase its expertise in digitalization and in the use of advanced tools, such as artificial intelligence and real-time data analysis, to optimize mining processes and provide better decision making. Metso will also showcase its game-changing Sustainable Flowsheet Explorer (SFX), which enables the assessment, simulation, and comparison of technological alternatives on circuit and full flowsheets within minutes instead of weeks.
Technical talks and seminars
During the Expomin week, Metso will participate in a series of events and activities, such as the Expomin Congress, where Marcelo Concha, Senior Manager of Deployment at Metso, will give a presentation on digitalization and cybersecurity on Tuesday, April 22, at 11:30 a.m local time in the Plenary Hall.

The following day, Thursday, April 24, Eduardo Nilo, President of Metso's South America market area will participate in the "Sustainable mining" panel at a seminar organized by the European Union, which is being held in parallel to Expomin, at 6:30 p.m. local time at the "Entremuros" events center.
Leading comminution offering further strengthened through the acquisition of Swiss Tower Mills Minerals
At Expomin, Metso will also highlight how its recent acquisition of Swiss Tower Mills Minerals (STM) strengthens Metso’s position as a leading supplier of comminution solutions and services to the mining industry.
STM, based in Baden, Switzerland, specializes in vertical mill solutions. It is known for the HIGmill™ technology, which plays a vital role in future-proof energy-efficient solutions, for example, in combination with Metso's Vertimill® vertical grinding solutions and HRCTM high-pressure grinding roll technology. Combined with Metso’s innovative flotation solutions like the Concorde Cell™, it enables maximized throughput as well as superior recovery. Over the years of collaboration, there has been significant growth in the use of vertical mill technology, and this trend is expected to continue.
